Thanks Grammie Pammie

Today I want to say thanks to my Grammie Pammie (at least we think that's what she might be called...). She had to go home today, as my grandpa was really starting to miss her. She has been here to help me and my mom and we all appreciate everything she did!

She worked really hard and deserved this nap she and I took together. She was up in the night with me, changed a million diapers, (she even decided that I only poop in the diapers that have Big Bird on them for some reason!), fixed dinners, cleaned the house, did the laundry, and lots more!

She also read me stories which I loved! She's good at stories, too, as she's a librarian... I was really paying attention to this one!

Thanks, Grammie Pammie. I look forward to more visits from you and all my other grandparents, too!! I'm such a lucky little girl!!

Love, Abby

What a weekend!

It's true...I've been busy. Okay fine, busy sleeping, but I've also been doing more and more things. I went on my longest walk yet - and at the end, we all decided to race. Hey, guess what? I won!!!

Today, I went to church for the first time ever! Everyone said I was very good, and even I agree that I looked good in my dress!

So good, in fact, that I decided to practice the hula in honor of my great-aunt and great-uncle in Hawaii...

Even though the sermon was really neat and all, I just couldn't stay awake and slept the whole time. (I blame the heat and relaxing organ music!) At the end of church, I got to see my neighbors John and Christine, which was great fun.

I was about to swoon with all the attention...

...but I couldn't rest, because more was about to happen...

Umblical update...my stump fell off. Let's be honest... stump is a political or arboreal term, it shouldn't apply to babies. It was kinda gross. But now it's gone. That's good for three reasons:
- My belly no longer has a black protrusion
- I can wear diapers over my belly button now
- I CAN TAKE BATHS!!!

That's right...it's bath time, and just like my mommy - I love baths!!!

They take some work though. Take today, for instance.

First, Grammy Pammy had to take off my clothes...

Then mommy had to prepare the water, with Harley's help...

Then it was time for actual bath (please note the rather gorgeous, if slightly full abdomen)...

Finally, I needed to dry off (and show off all my hair)...

After such a busy weekend, it was time for a well-deserved nap...

Thanks for reading up on me...I promise there's much more to come!!!

I Love My Auntie Meg

I love my Auntie Meg. She has been in Rhode Island since the day before I was born, and she was very excited to meet me when I arrived. Over the past few weeks she has been here to help Mommy with my diapers, my feeding, taking care of my puppy, and helping around the house. She has been a BIG help and I love her so much! She has to go home to Arizona now, and I will miss her a lot, but I can't wait to see her again soon!

She is also a special aunt because she is my only REAL aunt or uncle. She says that there are lots of people who will pretend to be my aunts and uncles, but she's the only real one, as she is my mom and dad's only sibling. Auntie Meg says that makes our relationship very special, and I think she's right!!

Auntie Meg also read me my very first story. She's really good at reading stories because she is a teacher (and she's responsible for most of the books in my personal library!).

I love you, Auntie Meg. Can't wait to see you again-- visit any time you want!!

Love, Abby

The Many Faces of Abigail Claire

It's my two week birthday,
So I just thought I'd say,
It's time to jump up and shout,
'Cause here are new photos to check out!

Please, no comments on my weak attempt at poetry - let's see you do better at two weeks from the womb! The family has been at it again...taking lots of pictures. Some are old, some are new, but all of them capture the magic and the essence of me! I'm sometimes crabby, sometimes happy, but - as mommy and daddy say - always cute!

Here's me being:

Exhausted...

Happy...

Disinterested...

Concerned...

Posing in a photo shoot in exchange for milk, but ashamed of it...

Angry...

Suspicious...

Coy / Derek Zoolander...

Surprised...

Thoughtful...

Stuffed...

Teasing...

Mischievious...

Rebellious...

Angelic...

I've Been Home One Week!

I've had a busy weekend so far-- sorry I did not have time to post yesterday! I have now been home from the hospital for a whole week. I think I like it here...

I got to go on a walk with my dad, my Uncle Mark, and my dog, Harley. (Mommy stayed home to rest...) It was a nice day and I was excited to get to use my stroller for the first time!

When we got home I was so tired that I had to take a nap with my Daddy.

After I slept for a bit, Dad got some pictures of me making some of the funny faces I can make. I'm sure my mom and dad will try and capture more of my expressions, but for now, here are two of their favorites. Here's me practicing my dance moves...

and here I am laughing at a funny joke...

I hope everyone has had a good weekend like me! More soon!

Ten Days Old!

Hi there!!!

Can you believe ten days have passed already?

Me neither! People say I don't look a day over nine, but they're just being nice, I think. Still, it's been fun! I am not a material girl, but I do love all this attention!!! Everyone has been so nice to send me clothes and blankets and socks and travel things and flowers...the list goes on and on... Here are some of the flowers and a cake made of diapers that I have gotten!

It's great to be awake...

But I also love to be swaddled in my blanket...

Even bath time is more fun than it used to be...

And I love hanging out with my musical seahorse...

All in all, a good start to a great life! Can't wait to see what the next ten days bring!

More firsts! !

More firsts! !

Here's me being admired by Aunt Meg and Grandma Phyllis (not a first, but always worth sharing)...

Yesterday afternoon, I went on my first walk! Mommy and Daddy and I went with Harley and Aunt Meg and Grandma Phyllis down to the ocean. It's just down the street, and the weather was perfect! I was in my carrier the whole time and quite warm and happy.

Harley looked very silly in his Vanderbilt jersey.

Once we got to the water, everyone thought I was asleep. I wasn't though. I was just thinking how small I am and how big the ocean and the world is. It's a lot for a nine day old to take in. I'm glad I have such great friends and family to help me though! Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers and gifts that everyone has sent me! I love you all!!!
